A Bed Tailor-Made For Insomniacs

It’s a haven of a bed from French designer Mathieu Lehanneur.

A creation based on extensive physiological studies of people who suffer from chronic insomnia.

Sound. Light. Temperature.

All 3 factors affecting sleep are carefully controlled in this ‘Once upon a dream’ bed.

Curtains automatically close. The temperature and lighting levels are gradually lowered.

Gentle white noise blocks out external sounds.

Within fifteen minutes the light dims from 1000 Lux to 0.

Once Upon a Dream is designed for champagne maker Veuve Clicquot’s hotel, in Rheims, France. widn

A Mildly Excessive GTI

VW names it Golf GTI Excessive.
The name is dramatic sounding but the mods are anything but.
What do you get?
  • a wider track and 30mm wheelarches. each.
  • beefier 370 mm diameter brake discs (310 mm rear)
  • new 19-inch flow-formed BBS motorsport-derived alloy wheels
  • stiffer suspension springs and dampers
  • The 2.0-litre TSI engine is left unchanged – (this is what I mean – How can it be justifiably named excessive?)
  • a free-flowing exhaust system raises power from 210 PS to 214 PS torque rises from 206 to 211 lbs ft
  • a deep front splitter and a pair of revised airdams either side of the front grille
  • a new rear diffuser framed by a set of titanium-tipped exhaust pipes
  • a redesigned wing mounted above the rear window
  • redesigned bucket seats with integrated headrests

A Yacht Designed By Porsche

If I have a few billion in my pocket, I might consider getting a yacht.

Something that looks as good as this one from Porsche Design Studio.

It’s a 41 metre catamaran with two 4,600hp MTU 16V 4000 M93L diesel engines and two Rolls-Royce KaMeWa waterjets. Top speed is 35 knots.

No indication of price…

Just as well, I only need to hire one for a few months.
