Bullies No Match For Blind Swordsman

Warning ! This video is violent!!!

Zatoichi is a 19th century blind nomad who makes his living as a gambler and masseur. However, behind this humble facade, he is a master swordsman gifted with a lightning-fast draw and breathtaking precision. While wandering, Zatoichi discovers a remote mountain village at the mercy of Ginzo, a ruthless gang-leader.

Zatoichi does not carry a traditional katana, but a humbler but well-made shikomi-zue (cane sword). Shikomi-tzue were generally straight-edged, lower-quality blades which could not compare with regular katana, but Zatoichi’s Cane Sword, is superior as it was forged by a master bladesmith.

The 2003 Toronto International Film Festival People’s Choice award went to Japanese film Zatoichi, which was written and directed by and stars Takeshi Kitano. The film also won the runner-up Silver Lion award at the Venice Film Festival.
